Replacing the legs on a queen-size bed frame is a relatively simple DIY project that can save you money and update the look of your bedroom. With a few basic tools and some careful planning, you can easily replace the legs on your bed frame in a few hours.
Tools and Materials You’ll Need
Before you get started, gather the following tools and materials:
New bed frame legs (4)
Screwdriver or drill
Measuring tape
Level
Wood glue
Clamps (optional)
Step 1: Remove the Old Legs
Start by removing the old legs from the bed frame. Most legs are attached with screws or bolts. Simply unscrew or unbolt the legs and remove them from the frame.
If the legs are glued in place, you may need to use a chisel or a pry bar to remove them. Be careful not to damage the frame.
Step 2: Measure and Mark the New Legs
Once the old legs are removed, measure the distance between the holes in the frame where the legs will be attached.
Transfer this measurement to the new legs and mark the location of the holes.
Use a level to ensure that the legs are level before you drill the holes.
Step 3: Drill Pilot Holes
Drill pilot holes at the marked locations on the legs. This will make it easier to screw the legs into the frame.
The pilot holes should be slightly smaller than the screws you will be using.
Step 4: Attach the New Legs
Apply a small amount of wood glue to the holes in the frame.
Align the legs with the holes and screw them into place.
Be sure to tighten the screws securely, but do not overtighten them.

Leave the clamps in place for at least 24 hours.
